The City of Raymore is one of the fastest growing cities in the state of Missouri, and continues it’s tremendous population growth. This Cass County community continues to be a popular choice for home buyers looking for Raymore homes for sale, and families looking for a suburban home close to all the amenities of the Kansas City Metro area. Since 2000, the city has seen its growth jump by 72 percent.

Back in 2014, 159 total building permits were issued in Raymore. That equals 52 percent of all residential building permits issued in all of Cass County that year. I mention this to illustrate the extensive growth in residential real estate that Raymore has seen in recent years, and continues to experience today. Home buyers all over the Kansas City area continue to look for Raymore homes for sale as they expand their search to the south part of the Kansas City metropolitan area.

Raymore’s population is currently near 22,000 (19,963 in 2014) and it’s growth continues right to the city’s boundaries of Jackson County and Missouri 150 to the north, Belton to the west, Ward Road to the east and I-49 to the south. Raymore was founded in 1871 by forefathers, George Rae and Henry Moore. The city was platted in 1874 and incorporated in 1877. Raymore had just three inhabitants back then, and was one of the cities last to be settled in Cass County because of its lack of creeks and trees at the time.

Raymore has come a long way since then. The city continues to be a popular area for new home construction. In fact, Raymore has been one of the top communities in the Kansas City Metro area for new home construction for the last several years.

Raymore’s Parks and Recreation Department does a great job serving the families in the Raymore community, and manages a total of four parks, and a variety of programming including youth sports programs, adult fitness, to summer day camps for the kids in this growing community.

Raymore is home to the award-winning Raymore-Peculiar School District, and its campuses are all located within the city limits, including both Ray-Pec East Middle School and Ray-Pec High School. The Ray-Pec school system is a big draw for families looking to relocate from other parts of the Kansas City area..
